In 2024, I started building a network of local dairy and beef farmers that are equally concerned about sustainability, climate change mitigation, and profit margins. That led to the formation of Southern Genetics LLC which provides biological assessment services but has a primary function of pooling data across farms to develop practical land management interventions. This unites plant, fungal, and microbiology with soil science and sophisticated statistics and remote sensing to help build strong pastures that can tolerate extreme drought and keep weeds at bay.
